Objective
The aim of pétanque is to throw your boules as close as possible to the jack, the small target ball.
How a game is played
- A game begins with the jack being thrown into a defined area.
- Players or teams then take turns.
- Each player throws their boules, trying to get as close as possible to the jack.
Scoring
- At the end of each round, only the team whose boules are closest to the jack scores points.
- Each boule placed closer than the opponent’s counts as 1 point.
- The game generally continues until 13 points are reached.
